Prosecutors have charged a New Jersey man with slashing a police officer in the face last April. Keith Kiminski, 31, faces attempted murder and other charges for the incident at a home on Cresson Road in Galloway Township.
Body camera footage shows Kiminski rushing out of the house and attacking an officer at the front door. He allegedly slashed the officer with a serrated knife and struggled with officers for several minutes, refusing to drop the weapon. Authorities in Atlantic County report that two officers were injured during the ambush while responding to a 911 call.
The stabbed officer underwent emergency surgery for serious injuries, including a gash that nearly severed his carotid artery. Other officers were also hurt during the confrontation. Kiminski is currently detained in the Atlantic County Jail.
