MIDDLE TOWNSHIP TEEN DAD SPEAKS OUT: EX-STUDENT WANTS NJ TEACHER PREGNANT AT 13 WANTS HER CHARGES DROPPED, CLAIMS 'IT WAS MY IDEA'

A New Jersey teenager, who was only 13 years old when he allegedly fathered a child with his former teacher, is now speaking out about the relationship. According to a report, the now 19-year-old claims the sexual relationship was his idea and insists that his former teacher, Laura Caron, should not face criminal charges. He even expressed hope that they could one day become a family.

“They need to drop all charges,” the teen told *DailyMail.com*. “I wasn’t groomed, raped, or manipulated by her. She never initiated anything. I started everything. If it were up to me, she wouldn’t have been in jail. It’s been six or seven years. I’m 19, about to be 20.”

However, prosecutors strongly disagree. Caron, now 34, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, she faces more than 10 years in prison.

Under New Jersey law, the legal age of consent is 16, and it is explicitly illegal for teachers or anyone in a position of authority over minors to engage in sexual relationships with them, regardless of the minor’s age. According to Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey, such relationships are considered a breach of trust and a criminal offense.

Caron was a fifth-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School Number 2 in southern New Jersey when she became pregnant. She was in her late 20s at the time and gave birth in 2019.

As the legal battle unfolds, one question lingers: Can a relationship born of blurred boundaries ever find redemption—or is justice the only path forward?
