Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez, one of the four detainees who escaped from Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark, was apprehended Saturday morning in Passaic by FBI and ICE agents, according to law enforcement sources confirmed by the New York Post.

Sandoval-Lopez had been arrested twice in the past year—once for unlawful handgun possession and again in February for aggravated assault.

The escape occurred on June 12 after roughly 50 detainees launched a violent protest inside the facility, breaching a dormitory wall to flee. Three others remain unaccounted for as the search continues.
