A 30-year-old Somers Point man admitted to filming a 14-year-old girl while receiving oral sex from her, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Tyrique Beckett pleaded guilty to third-degree endangering the welfare of a child in connection with Oct. 21, 2024 incident, authorities said. The guilty plea is in exchange for a recommended sentence of three years in New Jersey State Prison.
On that date, Somers Point police received a report of sexual assault on a minor, authorities said. A family member of the teen provided police with a video she received, sent from Beckett's phone, of Beckett receiving oral sex from the girl, officials said.
When interviewed by police, the girl said that Beckett had asked her for oral sex. She was unaware she was being filmed during the act, authorities said.
Beckett is set to be sentenced on Dec. 15, 2025. As part of the sentence, Beckett will be required to register as a sex offender in accordance with Megan's law and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
