According to the South Orange Police Department, the first incident happened on May 29 on Montrose Avenue, where a homeowner spotted a suspicious individual through a security camera. The suspect was allegedly seen trying to enter a vehicle parked in the driveway before peering over a fence. After realizing they had been noticed, the individual fled the area.
Later that same day, officers responded to another attempted burglary on Kingman Road. A homeowner reported seeing a person on surveillance footage attempting to gain access to the residence. Police said the suspect appeared to be wearing the same clothing seen in previous incidents.
