Authorities in Atlantic County have indicted Howard Griswold and Melissa Tikarem for the murder of Christian Hunter in Mays Landing. Hunter was found shot on a sidewalk on January 20, 2024, and later pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Medical Center.
Surveillance footage captured Hunter leaving his house, followed by gunshots and a male voice demanding something from him. A Nissan Rogue, registered to Tikarem, was seen fleeing the scene, with Tikarem driving and Griswold as a passenger. Griswold was found staying in a room registered to Tikarem at Resorts Hotel & Casino.
Phone records suggest Tikarem and Griswold had an ongoing relationship, and Tikarem was in contact with the victim before the shooting.
