VEHICLE OF MISSING NEW JERSEY MAN, LAST SEEN IN 2016, DISCOVERED SUBMERGED IN ATLANTIC CITY WATERS

A recent discovery by a boater has been connected to an almost 8-year-old missing persons case in Atlantic City.

Dashand Stokelin was last seen on November 23, 2016, on the 200 block of North Carolina Avenue, and was reported missing by his family shortly after.

At the time of his disappearance, the 36-year-old was driving a blue Subaru Legacy, according to police.

Last week, authorities were alerted when a boat's sonar detected a submerged vehicle at the bottom of the Clam Thorofare.

On October 2, the vehicle was pulled from the water and confirmed to be the one Stokelin was driving when he went missing.

Police reported that no human remains were found during the search of the vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
