🚨 VIOLENCE AT THE SHORE: A YOUNG WOODBRIDGE GRADUATE WAS GUNNED DOWN NEAR PIER VILLAGE IN LONG BRANCH — NOW POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS.

A tragic night in Long Branch as a Woodbridge man was shot and killed near the Pier Village beachfront.

Authorities say the incident happened around 8:58 p.m. Thursday, June 12. When officers arrived, they found Chrys Whyte, a recent Woodbridge High School graduate, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chrys (often referred to by his TikTok handle “@hi.imchrys”) had a growing following with viral posts tagged “Long Branch” and #fyp, drawing attention across shore communities.

Sources say Whyte may have been involved in a physical altercation just before the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made and no suspect has been publicly identified.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation and asking anyone with video or eyewitness info from the boardwalk that night to come forward.

This is believed to be an isolated incident, but the search for answers is ongoing.
