Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II announced that three men have each been sentenced to 60 years in state prison for their roles in the fatal 2021 shooting of a Newark man.

The Honorable Judge Ronald D. Wigler, J.S.C., presided over the trial and sentencing. On July 2, 2025, a jury convicted Tyshon Armour, 23, of Newark; Reynold Henderson, 23, of Irvington; and Issad Jackson, 26, of Irvington of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors proved that on March 8, 2021, the men were inside a stolen BMW X5 when they spotted 22-year-old Dedric Bracey on St. Paul Avenue in Newark. After following him, they stopped the vehicle, and Armour and Jackson opened fire, unleashing 13 rounds that killed Bracey.

The trio fled to Irvington, but investigators from the New Jersey State Police Motor Vehicle Crime North Unit tracked the stolen SUV. Following a brief foot chase, all three were arrested.

“This sentence sends the message that when you take a life, you will also give up yours,” said Assistant Prosecutor Michele Miller, who handled the case. “Think long and hard before you conspire with others to commit murder, because here in Essex County, you will be held accountable.”

Under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act, Armour, Henderson, and Jackson must serve at least 85 percent of their sentences before becoming eligible for parole.
