Bayonne’s Williamsport Run Isn’t Over, Win-OR-Go-Home Game Set for Tuesday

Bayonne suffered its first loss of the Little League World Series on Sunday, falling 6-0 to Davenport Northwest of Iowa — but Jersey’s run in Williamsport isn’t over yet.
Bayonne entered the game undefeated before running into a dominant performance from Iowa pitcher Anthony Johnson Jr. He struck out 15 batters and helped himself at the plate, crushing a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
The loss drops Bayonne to 2-1 and sends the Metro Region champs into the elimination side of the U.S. bracket.
Now it’s simple: win and keep playing, lose and go home.
Bayonne returns to the field Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at Lamade Stadium, where they’ll face the winner of Monday afternoon’s matchup between Boerne, Texas, and Hamilton, Ohio.
