EAGLES MAKE HISTORY WITH SAQUON BARKLEY’S RECORD-BREAKING DEAL!

Eagles Extend Saquon Barkley with Historic Deal

PHILADELPHIA – After a record-breaking first season with the Eagles, Saquon Barkley has secured a historic payday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Philadelphia has signed the 28-year-old running back to a two-year, $41.2M contract extension, with $36M guaranteed at signing. The deal makes Barkley the first NFL running back to earn over $20M annually.

This extension comes nearly a year after Barkley joined the Eagles on a three-year, $37.75M contract. His impact was immediate, nearly challenging Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record and delivering a legendary NFC Championship performance with 205 yards in the snow against the Rams. Barkley also shattered Terrell Davis’s record for most rushing (2,504) and scrimmage yards (2,857) in a full season.

He can earn up to $15M more through incentives and escalators.

What’s Next for the Eagles?

Following their Super Bowl-winning season, the Eagles face tough roster decisions. Key free agents include linebacker Zach Baun and defensive star Josh Sweat. The team has already made bold moves, releasing cornerbacks Darius Slay and James Bradberry.

With the NFL’s legal tampering period opening next Monday and free agency two days later, Philadelphia’s offseason is just getting started.
