EAGLES SIGN FORMERLY RETIRED WIDE RECEIVER JOHN ROSS

Wide receiver John Ross has joined the Eagles on a one-year contract after impressing during a tryout at the team's rookie minicamp. This move comes after Ross retired from the NFL last year. He fills the vacancy left by DeVante Parker's retirement.

Ross, the ninth pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, played four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and one with the New York Giants before retiring in 2023 after a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Throughout his 37-game NFL career, Ross recorded 62 receptions, 957 yards, and 11 touchdowns, with an average of 15.4 yards per catch. Known for his record-breaking 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, his career was marred by injuries, limiting him to an average of seven games per season in his first four years.

Ross will compete for a roster spot behind Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown this offseason.
