GIANTS ROOKIE IS A DIFFERENT MAN ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD
Darius Muasau, a new linebacker for the Giants, is known for his intense on-field persona which contrasts with his off-field introverted nature. Unlike his teammate Brian Burns, dubbed "Spider-Man," Muasau’s identity is defined by his consistent performance, having led his college teams in tackles for four seasons. Muasau, who finished his college career with 436 tackles, emphasizes his love for physicality and proper tackling techniques, striving to avoid mistakes.
Head coach Brian Daboll praised Muasau’s intelligence and instincts, and special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial, who coached him at Hawaii, supported his draft selection. Reunited with Ghobrial, Muasau is eager to contribute on special teams and learn from veteran linebacker Bobby Okereke.
During rookie minicamp, Muasau adapted to the Giants’ system and the Northeast climate, even as he joked about his limited cold-weather gear. He is focused on becoming the best in his position by continuously learning and improving.
