Hoboken University Hospital Unveils Expanded Infusion Center

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hudson Regional Health has unveiled a newly remodeled Infusion Center at Hoboken University Hospital, doubling the center’s size and expanding treatment capacity for patients in the area. The upgraded center includes six additional infusion chairs, more Workstations on Wheels for clinical staff, renovated patient care and waiting areas, and a second patient restroom.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hudson Regional Health has unveiled a newly remodeled Infusion Center at Hoboken University Hospital, doubling the center’s size and expanding treatment capacity for patients in the area.

The upgraded center includes six additional infusion chairs, more Workstations on Wheels for clinical staff, renovated patient care and waiting areas, and a second patient restroom.

The expansion also means more availability. The Infusion Center has increased operations from three days a week to five and added two chemotherapy-certified nurses and a medical assistant.

The center provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antibiotics, hydration, blood transfusions and other specialized medications, allowing patients to receive a range of infusion treatments at one location in Hoboken.

“HRH is fully committed to investing in Hoboken University Hospital to improve patient care and modernize our facilities, and the remodeled Infusion Center is the first of a number of infrastructure projects to come,” Hoboken University Hospital Chief Hospital Executive Dr. Michael Hochberg said.

Hochberg said the expansion will allow patients who require infusion services to receive specialized care closer to home.

Hoboken Councilwoman and hospital board member Tiffanie Fisher called the investment “great news” for residents who rely on the services.

“Expanding the Infusion Center means more patients can receive high-quality cancer treatments and other critical care right here in our Mile Square without having to travel long distances,” Fisher said.

Hudson Regional Health says the project is the first of several planned infrastructure improvements at Hoboken University Hospital.

In addition to infusion services, the hospital provides care for patients with breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and other cancers. Services include surgical oncology, clinical research opportunities, patient navigation, survivorship care and nutrition counseling.

The hospital also operates a specialized Gout Program offering treatment for acute gout flares, long-term uric acid management, lifestyle and dietary guidance, monitoring and treatment support.
