Patients in Long Branch have a new resource for nutritious food and help making meals at home. Monmouth Medical Center celebrated the opening of its Food Farmacy on September 8, 2026, in partnership with regional food bank Fulfill.
Located inside the hospital’s Alexander Pavilion, the program offers fresh New Jersey-grown produce, refrigerated items and pantry staples, along with individualized counseling from registered dietitians, according to RWJBarnabas Health’s announcement.
It is the health system’s sixth Food Farmacy. The program also includes culturally relevant foods, recipes and education about managing chronic conditions.
In the accompanying News 12 report, Amanda Eustice looks at how the service connects patients facing food insecurity with food and nutrition support as part of their care. Patients interested in the program should ask their care team about access and eligibility.
