New Jersey Film Trail Will Connect the Places You Know from the Screen

What happened
That familiar street or courthouse in a movie might be closer than you think. New Jersey is creating a Film Trail to help residents and visitors find places across the state that have appeared on screen.
Governor Mikie Sherrill signed the measure on September 9, 2026, according to the Governor’s Office. It directs the Division of Travel and Tourism to establish the trail.
The plan includes an interactive website with filming locations, photos, directions and suggested itineraries linking nearby places to eat, stay and explore, according to the Assembly’s announcement. The public will also be able to suggest locations for consideration.
In the accompanying state-shared video, New Jersey’s film history takes center stage, including a look at the Essex County Courthouse and its connection to Presumed Innocent. The legislation sets the project in motion; the announcement does not provide a launch date for the finished trail website.
