Sixers Drop 117-107 Decision To Hawks Despite Maxey’S 28
The Sixers couldn’t slow Atlanta when it mattered most.
Tyrese Maxey led Philly with 28 points in 39 minutes, knocking down four threes and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the line. Andre Drummond controlled the glass with 14 rebounds and added 10 points inside.
Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 17.
Vince Williams Jr. finished with 20.
Quentin Grimes added 14 off the bench.
But Atlanta got big production from Jalen Johnson (32 points, 10 rebounds) and CJ McCollum (23), pulling away late to secure the 117-107 win.
Philly drops to 30-25.
The issue wasn’t scoring — it was stretches of defensive breakdowns and second-chance opportunities that swung momentum.
The question now: Can the Sixers tighten up defensively as the playoff race heats up?
