SOUTH JERSEY SCHOOL DISTRICT PROHIBITS ALL WIRELESS DEVICES - INCLUDING SMARTWATCHES
This year, some South Jersey schools are tightening the reins on wireless gadgets—and it's more than just phones and tablets. The Cherry Hill Public School District is banning the use of any device that sends or receives voice or data without wires. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and wireless headphones.
The district points to research indicating that these devices can hurt students' grades, concentration, and mental well-being. So, starting now, students can't use wireless devices during class time. But don't worry—they're still allowed during lunch, recess, between classes, on school buses, and during extracurricular activities.
If someone breaks these rules, they'll face consequences as laid out in the Student Code of Conduct.
