TRAGIC STABBING RAMPAGE IN JERSEY CITY CLAIMS LIVES OF MOTHER AND TWO YOUNG CHILDREN
A brutal domestic violence incident left three dead early Thursday morning in a Jersey City apartment. Napoleon Romero-Anduray, 31, is accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Luisa Urbano, 31, and her two children, 9-year-old Juan Martino Urbano and 5-year-old Diana Ramirez, before attempting to take his own life.
The attacks occurred around 12:15 a.m. in a basement apartment on Hutton Street. Neighbors were jolted awake by screams, prompting building superintendent Luis Turcos to rush to the scene. Upon opening the door, Turcos was confronted by Romero-Anduray holding a knife and found the victims already dead.
Romero-Anduray, who was later charged with three counts of first-degree murder, was found with self-inflicted injuries and transported to a hospital for treatment.
The community, devastated by the loss, remembered the victims as immigrants from Colombia. Local officials, including State Senator Angela McKnight, offered condolences, with McKnight stating, “This senseless act of violence will leave a lasting impact on all of us.”
