A raging four-alarm fire tore through a Union City home Saturday afternoon, killing one person and sending crews into a full-scale battle against fast-moving flames.

The fire broke out around 3:40 p.m. on the 3800 block of Bergen Turnpike, where firefighters arrived to find the building already being swallowed by fire.

Authorities say the blaze likely started in a garage before exploding into a three-family home, spreading rapidly and lighting up the area.

Flames shot into the sky, visible for blocks, as multiple alarms were struck and extra units rushed in.

Inside the home, one victim was found dead. Their identity has not yet been released.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating what sparked the deadly fire.

Crews managed to bring the inferno under control in under an hour. No firefighters were injured.

This is developing.
