
TRAPPED AND THREATENED: SECAUCUS POLICE UNCOVER DANGEROUS DRUG OPERATION AT RODEWAY INN
On Sunday, Secaucus Police responded to the Rodeway Inn on Rt. 3 east for a report of a victim being held against their will with a hypodermic needle.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, safely escorted them out, and detained two suspects: Kevin Bazemore, 44, of Hackensack, and Brandon Bialek, 39, of Lodi. Police say Bazemore physically restrained the victim for over two hours, while Bialek blocked the door holding a large needle.
A search of the room revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Over one ounce of suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate), and prescription drugs were seized.
Bazemore and Bialek were charged with Kidnapping, Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping, Criminal Restraint, and Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Restraint. Bazemore also faces a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bialek faces additional charges of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of GHB, Possession with Intent to Distribute GHB, and three counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
“Nefarious acts at our hotels will not be tolerated,” said Chief Dennis Miller. “These arrests highlight the collaborative efforts of the Secaucus Police Department, and I’m extremely proud of their work.”
