A beaver went full attack mode on a child at a New Jersey lake 😳🦫
Wild video shows an 8-year-old boy getting chased and bitten by a beaver while fishing with family at Lake Henry in Mahwah on Sunday evening.
Police say the beaver suddenly came out of the water and charged at the child. The boy tried to run but tripped, and the animal bit him in the upper thigh before continuing the attack.
In the footage, family members can be seen scrambling to pull the boy away as the beaver keeps coming after him. At one point, a relative kicks the animal while a dog jumps in to help before the beaver is thrown back into the lake.
Authorities later learned the same beaver had reportedly attacked other visitors earlier in the day.
Animal control captured the beaver and said it may have been sick. The animal has been sent for testing.
The child was taken to the hospital. Police are asking anyone who encountered the beaver to contact Mahwah police.
